Global Citizens’ Assemblies

Hello

So I just learned about the Global Citizens’ Assemblies and I thought that maybe someone in the network might be interested on the model/module and adopt it/adapt it to economic planning or even networking with the orgs involved. So far I’ve read about the climate crisis assembly but I wonder if something like this could be included in more explicit economic planning projects.

Anyways, just wanted to share. There are other resources on the initiative:

Hey Jorge, as far as I remember there are a couple of people and proposals out there that take citizens’ assemblies into account and take them as an “organisational form” to make democratic decisions. I don’t have any names for people who work on them in my mind at the moment, sorry, but I’m pretty sure there are people already having this on their radar and integrating it in their proposal.

That’s good to hear Eric. Thank you.

I liked the idea that these are demographically representative, randomly selected and called to deliberate on a particular topic or issue. I think they are also called mini-publics.
